The olive grove, the setting of your stay

We wanted Zarraba Dar close to Marrakesh, but away from its hustle and bustle for your stay, whether it’s for a night, a day, or a week.

Dar Zarraba is located in the middle of an olive grove of more than 2,71 acres, not far from the road to OURIKA, known to all the “Marrakchis”, and that leads to the nearby Atlas. For most of the year, the snow covers the Atlas mountains in a beautiful and visible manner. The small village (douar) has kept its authenticity and the fields make up the bulk of its activity.

The garden is done every year with embellishments, and is now part of the reputation of our guesthouse. We wanted a place where each season brings its color and species.
The olive oil used by our cooks is made on the property.

We grow different plants that will flavor the welcome tea that we offer you on arrival.

Among the animals is our donkey that is well known to all children who have stayed with us. A few months ago our little goat came to keep him company.

Loggia rooms

Each room has a private terrace overlooking either the pool or the olive grove. You will be able to have breakfast there unless you prefer to join in with the other guests at the li ving room.

Their design has been carefully looked after: reed ceilings (tatouis) made by “maa lem” (master craftsmen) from southern Morocco, Tadelakt and Dess marrakchis, and fabrics(sabra) woven by local craftsmen.

We wanted a simple but authentic design.

You can choose your room, according to availability.

The small farmhouses

… The small farmhouses were inaugurated in March 2009.
These are three large, very comfortable suites for 2 to 5 people each (ideal for parents with young children).

The large bathroom is accessible from inside and from outside for a very comfortable fa-mily use. They were built with traditional materials (adobe, wood, tadelackt and zelliges from Fez), which is particularly neat. Each farmhouse has a beautiful, shaded terrace in the heart of the olive grove where you will enjoy spending your time.

The olive trees lodge

The new « Olive trees lodge » is set in a beautiful garden of olive trees.

Its decoration and its equipment have been the subject of the most attentive care. It’s the family suite, which can accommodate up to five people. The lodge is fully inde-pendent.

It has a beautiful private terrace with the olive trees within sight. It includes a bedroom, kitchen, and both a large and small lounge. Its equipment is complete (washing machine, fridge, international television and Wi-fi).

The palm trees patio

This small private Riad was designed from two rooms following the Berber tradition.

It can accommodate 3 to 6 people.
It can be booked for exclusive use and it has been specially designed for families with older children wanting two separate bedrooms, but grouped around a private garden.

Each room has a beautiful bathroom and a terrace overlooking a small patio.

Pool

The beautiful mirror pool, surrounded by olive trees, is an integral part of the charm of Zarraba.
It is now heated for most part of the year.
A beautiful terrace will welcome you for drinks, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Its sweeping staircase has been designed to allow young children to play safely.

Spa “authenticia”

The art of the hammam is inseparable from Moroccan culture. We wanted an authentic hammam and traditional atmosphere so you can explore this ancestral art of living in peace.

The Berber tent

Facing the pool, you can enjoy an authentic nomad tent where we built an outdoor living room. You can take refuge there to read, have a mint tea with friends or enjoy breakfast or dinner as they are served. For your events, we can organize evenings with traditional henna ceremony, tea, hookah, etc.

The big caidal tent

The big tent is a traditional caidal tent, originally made to host the “notables” as they moved on their “territory.” Today, depending on our guests’ needs, it is used for meals, parties, seminars, trainings, or as a dance floor.

It may, at the request of our guests, be transformed with decorations and illuminations for events (see events).
